An amazing piece of video from late 60's primetime tv. Featuring Bing Crosby, Gwen Verdon, Bobby Gentry, Englebert Humperdink and Dick Shawn (Dick Shawn?? Whatever possessed them to put him in there?) singing a Beatles medley. Bing appears to be looking for the nearest exit (who can blame him, poor guy. Oh how the mighty had fallen). I love Gwen's gutteral "uh HUH!" at the end of her piece. Dick Shawn appears to have milked this bit for all it was worth. His career would fade into nothingness shortly after. All in all, a heavenly trainwreck. There are poor attempts for the old farts to try to be hip strewn all over 60's and then 70's tv. I probably would have thought the fogies were ruining the pure genius that was the Beatles. Kids today probably think the Beatles are old fart's music. ...and the wheel goes round...
